Recent Successes from Dorset Search Dogs

Dorset Search Dogs, in collaboration with Wessex Rescue, had a productive day on the water, participating in a filming session with BBC South. The coverage highlighted the fruitful partnership between the two teams, emphasizing the positive impact of grants received from Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks.

During the day, a working demonstration took place in Poole Harbour, featuring our remarkable search dog Rufus in action, successfully locating a person in the water. Following the demonstration, team members were interviewed, shedding light on our operations and the significant benefits granted to both teams, both on and off the water.

To conclude the day, an exciting announcement was made by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks, awarding Dorset Search Dogs a further grant to support our Water Search Dog Project.

Dorset Search Dogs

We were delighted and so very grateful to be the Lodge of Amity's chosen charity for 2023. With many thanks to Hayden and Debbie, the Worshipful Master and his good lady, but also huge thanks to all who attended the various social events. An enormous £1800 was raised through the year. The Masonic Province of Dorset very generously rounded the donation up to £2000 and a further £20 was very kindly donated at the presentation evening by a member who had not been able to attend any functions. We are all volunteers and rely on people's generosity to continue to assist in searches for vulnerable missing persons. ...
